• Tax laws for both companies & individuals (the relevant ones – otherwise we shall definitely put them to sleep)
• How to keep in touch and up to date with SARS without arousing suspicion
• Monthly submissions required – and relevant costs involved
• Annual submissions – how to calculate these, what they mean and how to ensure you do not pay penalties

3. Accounting packages / software

• What packages are available on the market?
• Why would you want to use them – advantages & disadvantages?
• Costs involved – what you get for what you pay.
• Annual costs (if any)

4. Banking / Funding

• What is prime – when does it change – how does it affect you and your business?
• Banking charges – what accounts for when?
• Internet banking – security, convenience etc
• Funding – types, rates, opportunity costs etc.
