Image Following on its extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, PCC has perfected certain modules to assist entrepreneurs in all the ramifications of buying, selling and expanding businesses. These courses are aimed at the SME market, and are practical in nature. Additional markets which are being pursued is that of the “Ëntrepreneurs” “Retrenchees” “Market and School Leavers” and “Returning retirees”

As an add on to these services, training and coaching is given in services such as the due diligence process, negotiations, financial implications and legal compliance, and as stated security related issues. It must be stressed that training is the first part of the process and assistance is later necessary to find and fund a business through a coaching process.

All of the presentations can be adapted from 2 hours to 3 day programmes.

To assist those wishing to enter business for the first time be it by start up or buying, a programme has been prepared to cover 12 periods over 3 weeks-6 periods x 3 hours each-usually Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. The subject matter covers-

  • Pitfalls-but the rewards can be great
  • Whether to start up or buy-all depends whether you have the money
  • Negotiations-can get you to make or lose a lot of money
  • Due diligence-Dig deep
  • Human resources-Understanding people-how to recruit and keep
  • Structures-paramount to know the box which you are in
  • Legal compliance-let the signer beware
  • Financial ramifications-a minefield-get advice
  • Valuations-not a science-
  • Advisers-get it in writing-what for, how much and when will be delivery
  • Train the trainer-job creation
  • Creating business opportunities-what are you suited for

All training is given on the premise of “keep it simple” without jargon or legalese.

Books have been published and modules prepared which add value to the topics mentioned, and depending on the level of the training are used as course material. All topics are covered by power point presentations.

The courses were accredited by the Services Seta under the recordal system-but have now been reassessed by the Services Seta-NQF 4-under the title-New Venture Creation-Reaching the viability of new venture ideas/opportunities and negotiating in a new venture.

It must be noted that the training is in different levels and relates to the size of the businesses involved-starting with the basics of entering business and concluding with the full M&A process-due diligence and the legal documents necessary to conclude a deal.
